The Southern Ontario Secondary Schools Association (SOSSA) is a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization that governs and coordinates interschool athletic competition for secondary schools across Hamilton-Wentworth and the Niagara Peninsula.
SOSSA is a recognized member association of the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) and operates in alignment with provincial policies and standards.
SOSSA supports interschool athletics by:
Organizing and administering SOSSA championship competitions
Coordinating competitive pathways to OFSAA championships
Supporting convenors, coaches, and school athletic departments
Establishing and enforcing playing regulations
Promoting fair play, safety, and student-athlete well-being
SOSSA represents secondary schools across Hamilton-Wentworth and the Niagara Peninsula, including public, Catholic, French-language, and independent schools.
Member schools collaborate through SOSSA to deliver equitable and developmentally appropriate athletic opportunities.
SOSSA offers championship competition in a wide range of boys’, girls’, and co-educational sports, including both team and individual disciplines.
Competition is organized across divisions (A, AA, AAA where applicable) to promote competitive balance.
